Somebody say something !
It's way to silent on the forum these days... I'm in Africa for goodness sakes and this is my favorite past time/ keep in touch with reality. Somebody say something.

It has been pretty quiet in the forums... What would you like to hear?
I'll be in Africa next June...

I'm going to work...
It still qualifies as an adventure. Mostly.
I've decided to build a two car garage.
Since car = LJ, it is only going to be 10' x 12'.

The above is my opinion. It is subject (like all my opinions) to debate, disagreement, rude gestures, and loud raspberries.

I'll be hitting the safari parks in Kenya and Tanzania (Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Amboseli) the second half of June. Always been a "bucket list" trip for me...

Re: Somebody say something !
I have always wanted to go to east Africa. The safari tours are awesome from what I hear. Hear in Cameroon we have all the animals up in the extreme north. The wife and I went there several years ago and it was awesome. Now it is a no go zone because of the boko haram group out of north Nigeria . It is really a sad deal. Good luck on your trip and post pics. You might even spot a lj over there.

Hadn't thought about spotting any LJ's over there, but will definitely post pictures if I see any!

Right on Rusty, so silent I first thought my internet connection was down. Some chatter on the newer stuff but not very much on the 10s and 20s.Rusty wrote:It's way to silent on the forum these days... Always thought it would be nice to travel to Africa but was only able to make my very first trip to California just two weeks ago where we paid our very first visit to a COSCO store. They had their world globes on sale. I, fifteen hundred miles from home and feeling like I was now a world traveler, added one of the globes to the shopping cart the bride was pushing. She set it back on the shelf. As a result I was barely able to get us back to Oklahoma much less finding my way to Africa.

Myers,
Sounds like my wife and yours would get along well. Mine never seems to be as excited about the cool stuff I find as I am
Africa is a long way from home but I enjoy it.

Ha! Count yourself lucky Larry; we go there at least every month, and are happy if we get out of there spending less than $200. Of course, having two growing teenagers in the house, being able to buy in bulk does come in handy!Myers wrote:...we paid our very first visit to a COSCO store.
The Costco we go to is in Issaquah, about 12 miles from our house, and it is right across the street from their corporate headquarters, so we seem to get all the cool new stuff first. We used to go on Saturday afternoon, as they would have lots of samples out to taste, but it got too crowded and we got tired of the "shopping cart rage", so now we try to go either during the week on the way home from work, or when they first open up on weekends.

Costco at dinner time is when to go, just make sure you eat before going there or else. When we went to Kauai a few years ago they just opened one there, wow the seafood and booze there was crazy. They do not sell booze at our Costco's.
Revolving door of LJ's, currently down to one LJ 81
Re: Somebody say something !
We have the Sam’s Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Wichita. They are much like COSCO.
With three Great Grand Children in the Oklahoma City Area, two which are still in diapers, Sam’s prices helps with our commitment to furnish diapers for the Great Grands. I enjoy setting in the concession area and observing the funny looks my soon to be 73 year old Bride gets while pushing four boxes of diapers of two different sizes through the check-out.

In Washington, all hard alcohol was sold through state-owned liquor stores until a ballot measure was passed a couple of years ago (I-1183), allowing other retail stores to sell it. The primary sponsor and contributor to the campaign was... you guessed it... Costco. They contributed nearly $21 million to the campaign. The second biggest contributor was Safeway, who contributed $50,000. And yes, every Costco now has a huge liquor department; you can even buy Kirkland Signature branded vodka and tequila (not that I ever would!)
