I will be able to haul one at a time on my trailer.
Great! That would keep me from having to re-load Wilson in the back of Xena.
The above is my opinion. It is subject (like all my opinions) to debate, disagreement, rude gestures, and loud raspberries.

I just got 4 brand spanking new mounts in yesterday for the V. PO used a couple of coat hangers to hold the exhaust up - wasn't working very well...

May not need ya. I suddenly realized that I got 2 kids with trailers following me down.

Leaving out of here with the last load Friday at 9am. That'll be me with the fifth wheel, Shane with Whacker, and Jay with Sancho. Look for us at the campground about 2pm.

At least that's the plan.

One hitch right now is that the sticker on the fifth wheel license plate says 2003. Oops! Of course, I DID pull Jay's trailer with that plate on it to Seattle and back and nobody noticed. Mebbe they won't notice now. either.

As soon as Alice gets up, I'm gonna ask her pointedly about that (she's in charge of getting license renewals).

How much does it cost to reg. a trailer there? When I did mine, it was $18.75/yr.

It helps to live outside the Seattle city limits. My friends in the city have been paying a "monorail tax" the past few years, to cover the cost of expanding the monorail. The plan got axed last year, and after this year they won't have to pay anymore. Tags for a $20,000 car ran $300-$350 per year; for me it's only $33.75. :D

Just talked the tag thing over with Alice. She's NEVER seen a renewal notice and never thot about it. Guess it ain't been renewed since we bought it in 2003. Man, that's gonna cost me in back fees and penalties to bring it up to date.

Oh NO! I hope they at least give you a kiss, but don't expect a reach-around, cause you won't get one.

Can you claim non-operational status somehow? Or sell it to your son for $5, transfer title to him, he registers it current, then sells it back to you for $5. When I bought the V, it hadn't been registered since '91, and I didn't have to pay anything extra.

Arkansas is nice about that, if you claim (and thats all you have to do) that you haven't used it in that time they don't charge you.

Missouri on the other hand charges $30.00 a month that it is late, up to $200.00, for just the late fees.

Michigan just recently went to permanant trailer plates- $75. Non transferable.
I can see some trailers will be like the guy that had the same axe for 50 years... third head and seventh handle, but it's the same axe!
When I rebuild my 47 year old sailboat trailer, I think the only thing to carry over will be the paint color!

Welp, I'm pulling out in 30 minutes for the first run to Oklahoma with the LJ's. Should be back home around 7 pm. This could be the biggest disaster since Chernobyl. Wish me luck.

This might be a little late but if you need help call me, I'm off work the rest of this week so I can head your way ASAP.

I also have a wrecker if I need to bring it.

I'm leaving Arkansas in 5 minutes and will be in Joplin till I leave for the meet on Thursday night.

I'm back. 2 hrs ahead of schedule

Trip was long but fairly uneventful. The worst part was not enough tongue weight on the trailer, so at anything over 50 mph, the dratted thing would wag like a dog's tail. That's a long damn trip at 50 mph.

Had one scare when a cop pulled in behind me and looked me over. Apparently he wasn't bothered a bit by no tags on the trailer, 'cause he just went on after a bit.

NOW I'm gonna have a beer or six.

BTW: That's MY winch on that bumper.

Mebbe tomorry I'll take a pic of the rear bumper and spare tire carrier.

Oh, one thing I fergot about the trip. Whilst I wuz gassing Xena in Pleasanton, Ks., a guy fueling a trash truck next to me swore he knew where one of "them there suzukis juss like dat one" was behind a guy's barn.

I gave him my phone number. :D
