Piston Abuse

Post by russmehl »

Thought I'd share what I've found lately...
The Piston on the right came from the same people who brought us the exploding LJ20 motor. http://www.lj10.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=200
I won't ever think the way to raise the compression ratio is welding a piece on the top of the piston. (except for a VolksAir compressor, and that screws on)

The piston on the left.... what's left of it, came out of the engine that came with Nemo... I'm still cleaning the bits out of the scavenger ports, the oil line, the crankcase, the crank. I was amazed that there doesn't seem to be any excessive wear on the rod bearings.
