LJ50 INFO

The lj50 was introduced in 1976 after the  Japanese Transportation Guideline was changed, they allowed the engine and body size to be larger so Suzuki replaced the 359cc engine of the LJ20 to a 3 cylinder 539cc and placed the spare tire on the rear with a swing arm. Since IEC (The company that imported the LJ's to America) stopped importing the LJ's at the end of 1973 you will not see any 50's in America (We haven't heard of ONE being in the USA at all).  The reason why IEC stopped importing them is because of the ever-more stringent EPA emissions regulations.

Australia was the main country that the LJ50 was exported to, they are very popular there.
