The bottom side gear still in carrier, this is one of the gears that we will be welding. The other one is on the top lid that was taken off earlier.

Remove both side gears from the lid and carrier and weld every other two slots on both gears. Weld two slots skip two slots. I had to grind a bit off the top of a couple of my welds because my weld was taller then the gear top. You can see where I had to grinded the welds in the pic below.

The side gears has a washer that goes with it, make sure when replacing the gear back into the carrier the washer is on the (both) gear(s)

One of the welded side gears in the carrier. (Washer is on it)  ;-)

Now place a little lube on the washer and spider gear, this is to keep the washer from sliding all around when you replace the spider gears. I use a "aerosol" can of lube oil, it works great!

Now place one of the spider gears into the carrier, turn the bottom side gear so that the two of the un-welded slots will lineup with the spider gear(s), slide in one of the short spider gear pins to hold the gear in place then put in the gear on the opposite side and place the other short pin to hold it, all the time making sure the washers are in place.

Install the other two spider gears and then the square pin holder, install the long pin all the way through (make sure the spider gear washers are in place) and then push the shorter pins through the square against the longer pin.

Install the top side gear making sure the washer is on it.

The install the top plate making sure it does fit snug onto the carries assembly. I took the picture after I placed the ring gear on the carrier, it doesn't matter which way other then the side gear MUST go on before you put the bolts and lock tabs in the top plate. The ring gear will not fit over the lock plates because they stick out too far.
