Now, since I’m replacing the king pin bearings, I need to remove the king pin races. I just use a medium punch and hammer.
Now clean the knuckle bell. I just use a roll of paper towels and wipe until it’s clean.
I lube the oil seal with whatever light oil I have available and use a cheap Harbor Freight bearing install tool.
And the seal installed.
You can install seals many ways. For years I used a socket or a punch to install them. Just lube them good and do it your way.
Next I installed the king pin bearing races. After starting them with some VERY gentle hammer taps, I used the old races as an install aid to smack with the hammer.
