Hey any further info on possibly meeting in Moab this Sept/Oct or somewhere around then? Smuz was going to get back to us.

Just curious as we are planning our calendar and if I can I would like to try and come. I still have the trailer (so far) Still looking for a full time job.

Thanks

I'll need to know too, my new boss wants MONTHS of advance warning of vacations, so he can fit it into his Grand Plan.

Sorry been off the forums for a wile, I live in utah and should be able to make a MOAB trip, what dates had anyone tried to settle on?

We are having a baby in July so NOt that month for me....

I am sure I can persuade YODA to make the trip down there, if not the wife and newly arrived son :)

July's pretty hot for Moab. I'm hoping it will be in September sometime.

I do believe Smuz was looking at September; July would be way too hot...

OK. Right now I'm gonna say the 3rd week in September, 14-22. Unless somebody comes up w/ a damn good reason I should change my mind.
The weather should be in the low 80's in the day and the high 50's/low 60's at night.
So, barring further info, that's the date.

Sorry about waiting so long to firm the date.

Sorry have been off the computer for a few days.

I am still looking for a job and if I do get one then the jury is out. If not or if I can get time off I feel I can be there toward the end of the week of 19, 20 & 21. (Maybe sooner) I would love to meet some of you all. Moab is doable for me.

Keep me posted.

The Myers two are a probably. Finally got to the brain and spine specialist Doc in Tulsa who said to avoid his knife as long as I can with the bones, or rather the lack of space between the bones. However, he kept any info he had on the gray matter to himself. At least I seem to remember he did not tell me anything about that.
That should be a good weather time in MOAB

Hey do we have exact dates yet? I know it is the 3rd week of Sept (14-22) but need to know exact dates as my schedule is that that flexible. Again I am best toward the end as I stated. Let me know so I can try to work this out.

Thanks

Our plan, at this time, is to leave the morning of Saturday, Sept 14 and arrive in Moab on Sunday the 15th. There will be 3 of us from ZuksofKC convoying. We plan to wheel every day mon-fri if we can. So show up when you can. We plan to camp at the Slick Rock Campground in Moab.

This is gonna be a very impromptu get together. Where we go and when is gonna depend on who's there and what happens. Prolly gonna plan the day's wheeling the night before. We ain't real organized and don't care to be. If some people don't wanna follow us, feel free to take off on your own. Or your welcome to join us, just don't expect any professionalism, we ain't got none of that.

Gonna be fun, tho, if my junk don't break.

Well I have some good news and some bad.

Good news is I finally got a new job.

Bad news is I have to travel to Dallas every other week and I now can not come. Bummer as I thought I was actually going to make it. If something changes I will let you all know but looks like it will not work.

Wish you all a good time.

We have kept putting the decision off but just a moment ago we finally decided not to try and make the Zuks of KC get-to-gather at Moab. Sure would be fun to do it again. We now know there are better hotels there and the weather should be perfect but I really just do not feel like it.

Maybe there will be another chance short of Moving to MOAB.

Have fun, be safe, and do not try the outside by-pass on the ledges going up to Poison Spider. I think I marked one of them well ….. at least I marked my under shorts VERY well.

Really sorry to see that the Myers can't make it, Nancy and I were looking forward to seeing them again :-(

On a entirely different note, does everyone have their copy of "Moab, UT Backroads & 4-wheel Drive Trails" at the ready? Since we'll be bringing the Lj, our trail leading options will be limited to what it can reasonably do. Since this is primarily a Zuks of KC run, I'm sure that they are going to want to do the signature Moab trails, such as Golden Spike, Moab Rim, or Pritchett Canyon. I've done those runs, and I know that they are well beyond the Lj's capabilities. Even a few of the trails I used to consider to be "easy" have deteriorated to the point that they can be a real challenge. (Steel Bender and Kane Creek come to mind.) So I think that in my case, it's mostly going to be plan a few possible trails, head out and hope we don't end up on the wrong end of a tow strap, or worse, seriously damaging our Lj.

Hey Smuz, how many are you expecting to show up on the Zuks of KC end?

Tom
