Kelowna
Wasn't sure where to put this, so opted for here...
We are moving from the UK to Kelowna (awaiting visa's at the mo) but we are going over to visit some friends there in September. While I'm there I would like to tag along and do some off roading if possible. Does anyone know if there is an off roading club in Kelowna, if so whats it called?
Also if there are any members here that live there it would be good to hear from you as I have a ton of questions

Re: Kelowna
Lot's of offroad guys in Kelowna and area. I live only about 1.5 hours from there, very close. Try bc4x4 and crawlinbc.

Re: Kelowna
My wife and I will moving to Kelowna at the end of summer. I'll be going to school there for three years. I'm hoping to have the LJ81 finished so I can take it there with me too.
LJ80s, I can't collect them all, but I might still try...

UBC Okanagan? My wife went there for a year. Guess we'll have to have our own LJ meet around there.Rick Friesen wrote:My wife and I will moving to Kelowna at the end of summer. I'll be going to school there for three years. I'm hoping to have the LJ81 finished so I can take it there with me too.

Re: Kelowna
I'll be at the Okanagan College for two years and then one at UBC Okanagan. Getting my B.Ed. with a trades and technology specialty (to start with anyway).
That'd be totally sweet to have a mini LJ meet while I was there!

Roseanne did the 1 year teaching certificate program, back when it was OUC. She was saying there was a big demand for trades teachers.

Re: Kelowna
I'm currently living in Vancouver, but my dad lives in Keremeos (1.5 hrs south of Kelowna) and I typically end up wheeling around there. We have kinda started an annual whipsaw run sometime in September or October, but we haven't set out dates yet (Whipsaw is a great trail near Princeton and kinda as this will only be our second annual). I'll try to keep you informed.

Re: Kelowna
Since Moab is looking like a no go, we should try and do a mini meet in the fall.

Re: Kelowna
Sorry to hear you won't make it to Moab.
If you do get a meet together, be sure to post it in the "meets" section.

Re: Kelowna
An LJ run in September sounds fun .
I'm in Coquitlam and picked up an LJ81 a couple months back - off BC4x4.com (theres another tricked out one 4sale now ).
Used it a few times and have big plans - only if I had the money
I have to get a trailer 1st
I'll keep watching for plans

Welcome Colin, let's see some pics! The tricked out one's owner is on here and it used to belong to me (way before all that work).tattoo wrote:An LJ run in September sounds fun .

Re: Kelowna
Excellent, I'm looking forward to meeting you guys. You will have to let me know where we are going to meet and how to get there etc before I leave the UK because I won't have satnav over there.
Re: Kelowna
i should be able to make it
Re: Kelowna
Are we planning on doing some trails? Just so long as wherever we go we only need to be trailer legal, I'm sure that my dad will bring along his LJ based rock buggy.
Anyways, I have officially penciled in the 12-13 as LJ meet so we should finalize some plans as to when and where we are going.

Re: Kelowna
I propose all us "locals" try and come up with some areas to go. Trails would be mandatory I think. I'm not road legal, either is Tyrel so I think you will be safe. Suggestions?
