I assume it is just the two adults; is he just bringing one LJ20?

i STILL think you'll want the open for August/September in the "desert southwest". dry heat or not, you're still gonna bake in that little tin box.
A legend in my own mind.

Is it still to early to start getting excited about the meet?
I'd rather be driving my LJ!

September, in Utah, at 4000 feet you don't need A/C you need a jacket. :hammer: :suz:

It depends. We're there right at the beginning of September; we could have temps around 100*, which would make A/C very nice.

And don't say it's a dry heat; at 100*, it doesn't matter, it's just HOT!

Looks like I'm not going to make it. Work is going to get in the way of my recreation :(

And with the way the US dollar is going it was looking like I would be able to just buy all your LJ's :)

Is anyone camping outside of Slickrock? There are some great camping spots up Sand Flats Road.

A few people are staying in hotels in town; I think everyone who has signed up so far is either in a hotel or at Slickrock CG. Since it could still be hot when we are there, the pool sounds very inviting, especially for those of us bringing kids!

If you camp elsewhere, you shouldn't have a problem meeting up with us at the CG if you want, especially for a cold one (or two) after a day of wheeling. These meets are pretty relaxed, so it would be hard to pinpoint a time to meet you at a trailhead!

We'll see what I do. I've stayed at Slickrock a few times, its nice. But its still a prepared campground. If my wife comes I'll stay there, if not I like to get out into the sticks a little further. Be a man! If you know what I mean.

My kids are both girls... I usually prefer dry camping, but I also usually get outvoted, 3-1.

We are planning to stay in Redstone Inn at Moab for basically the same reasons as Vagabond plus we are OLD plus the rates are $125 less per night than they were at Cochran, AB (Waiparous meet last year).

Time is getting short and the old eyes are somewhat better. Will be doing some vacatijon in area before or after meet.

Steve, do you have an estimate count of those planning to come?

So far I show a total of 24 adults and 4 kids confirmed as going. For rigs, assuming lj20colorado brings one LJ10 and one LJ20, we would have a total of 16 rigs: 7 LJ10's, 6 LJ20's, two Samurai's, and one X-90. Of this group, AZTony is the only one who hasn't confirmed a reservation here, assuming that Smuz takes Ruby's cabin.

There are a number of additional people on the "maybe" list, but at this point, most are "doubtful".

Wow, this may be the first meet where there are more LJ20's than LJ10's!
