Smuz you might want to look into the trailer behind a trailer thing a little more. You might only be allowed on the main highways. I know you won't be allowed in the parks or in BC. You might be able to get to where we are wheeling though.
Another place to check for more information is http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca
That is the Canadian border services site and they have a lot of info on the site if you are willing to search around a bit.
You can also call any border crossing and find out if you need tags or anything for your rigs. You might just have to stop at the American side on your way up and let them know what you are doing.
SteveC, looks like you can bring up to 24 beers with you, more than that and you pay.
As for firearms maybe woodchopper can bring enough for all of us then you don't have to worry about it.

1979 LJ-80, toyota drivetrain, 33" tires, aussie locker, 5.29's etc...
Steve, we have great beer here. Leave yours at home and get some of ours.
Smuz, in Alberta you can how a 2 trailers, but not in BC. The meet is on the BC/Alberta border. So just cross in Alberta and stay there. If you cross into BC and the DOT (CVSE here) see you, or a cop for that matter, they will make you drop one.
Cheers,
Nick.

well not really, unless you have the proper licence.frankenstein wrote:So it's easier to buy a gun in Canada and throw it away when you go home...
but then again using some old numbers, its estimated that only about 50% of owners actually followed the laws that were introduced in 1995 and registered their rifles. and handguns were registered since the 1930's but they lost most of those registrations and asked that everyone re-register. You can guess how that went. Gun laws are very unpopular and really don't prevent crime, useless feal good nanny state legislation.
Contact U.S. Customs /Border Protection with my lingering concern about getting older U.S. registered vehicles back into the U.S. from Canada. Looks like if we have the proper paperwork to get into Canada we should have no problem getting back into the U.S.

The number of rigs shouldn't be an issue, just tell them you're going to a car meet (which you are). My thinking is just that they'll see you coming, say "WTF is that, it's cool!", and stop you to check it out. I don't think they'll give you a hard time, but they may have questions!
The only difference between an ordeal and an adventure is your attitude
I wasn't worried about that, I don't have Ranger in my name, the title is still open and I really don't want to pay to have it tagged. I have no proof it is mine when I come back into the USA.
I'd hate to take a chance and have to leave it in Canada and having Ruby come and get it.

I'd rather be driving my LJ!

Found these links regarding passports:
http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.html
http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/newsroom/new ... 2008_4.xml
To summarize, you won't need a passport to go to Canada for the meet, as this requirement was delayed until June 1, 2009. Here in Washington, they have come out with an "enhanced drivers license", which supposedly can be used for travel to Canada in lieu of a passport, even after that date. (I hear them advertizing them on the radio all the time!) Other border states are probably also working on similar licenses, since there is a lot of cross-border travel in these states.
