Distributor gear

Post by Jimny »

Make sure you have plenty of Grease on the Distributor gear due to that no oil reaches it and if you do not it will ruin the gear and maybe even the crank.
I'd rather be driving my LJ!

Just thought I'd remind all of you to check the grease in your distibutor cavity...
It may be in there, but make sure it isn't old and hard!

(old and hard isn't always bad...)

No doubt!

The first V I bought had NO grease what so ever in there, it looked like it was rebuilt and they cleaned the grease completely out and never replaced it with any. Of course the dist. gear was toast and it also ruined the gear on the crank shaft.
I'd rather be driving my LJ!
