My Adventure Continues...

Post by Vagabond »

I left the meet, and made it about 50 miles, when my rear dif grenaded. I removed the rear drive shaft, put it in four wheel drive, and continued 350 miles to my next destination. Driving in front wheel drive only with a locker is a thrill, especially in traffic (like Denver rush hour). It pulls hard to the side every time I change from/to accelerating, decelerating, or shifting gears.

I'm hanging out in the Mountains to avoid the triple digit temperatures in Kansas and decide on my next move. I think that I've already pushed my luck and would be ill advised to attempt to drive it 600 miles home the way it is.

Geez George, you've had nothing but problems with that thing... Maybe time to ditch it and buy an LJ?

Hope things get better for you. It was nice to see you at the meet again; sorry you didn't get out on the trails much.

The brighter view might be that the diff did not go when on the trail. Good to see you.
