i think we should try to have a form of a swap meet at this meet this year.
this could give people a chance to bring parts that they are willing to traid and buy parts.
people should list what they have and what they wont that way you can only bring what is wonted by the people that way your not loading up everything you own.
Its just and idea and hope it turns in to something more thanks and lets get it going lol

Not sure if people have that many parts that they want to let go of.
But what a great idea. We have talked about before and never tried it.
I'm in!

i know theres not that many parts but i know that some people have several extra parts that they could bring and people can post what they need and once a price can be meet on it than they can bring the part insted of shipping it?

That and also just bring your extra parts and set them out on the ground or whatever and sell/trade or 'Swap' them.

I've done that at all the previous meets. I usually post up a couple of months before the meet to find out what people want, then bring it, plus a couple of boxes of more common parts, to the meet.
That's how Myers got that NOS gauge cluster last year.
I will again be bringing a couple of boxes of new parts, the more commonly wanted stuff like brake parts, lenses, etc., and if anyone has a specific request, just post it here, and I will be sure to bring it if I can get it. Just give me some notice - If I have to order it, I need to make sure it arrives before I nleave on my vacation. FYI, I am leaving a week before the meet again, so I won't be available much after Friday, June 27th. I may buy a laptop later this spring, so I may have some access to email that last week, but we'll be up around Banff and Jasper most of the time, so I doubt that I will have that much access.

I'll remember that when you end up leaving your LJ at the border, and I'm stripping it for parts

HAH! Fat chance of that! The only one I'm bringing is titled, licensed, and insured (with a Canadian insurance card) and I'm carrying proof of ownership. You ain't gonna get Wilson!
Oh, about insurance: I always call my insurance company before I go to Canada and they send me a card to carry that proves my insurance is good in Canada. Info courtesy of the Good Sam organization.

Good idea! We switched insurance companies last year, I better make sure that I'm covered.

I had better hurry up on Dakota, because that is the only LJ I have that I will tag and insure, if I don't get it done I will be coming without one, I will have to ride shotgun.

Thats what I was thinking. I won't be able to get off too many days at work so I will have to go the quickest way, and rent-a-cars are cheap nowadays.

Calgary would be your best bet, just a 1.5 hr drive:

Depends on what you want. I checked carrentals.com, and you can get an econmy car for $22.99/day, plus that optional insurance coverage you know you want!
I've heard they are stricter about renting cars in Canada though, so you might make sure you won't have any problems renting one. I'm sure one of us could pick you up too, if you prefer. I'd offer right now, but I'll be with a group already; plus I'll be setting things up for part of the day. We'll get you there one way or another though!

I'll rent one, that way I won't be dependent on someone else.
