Absolutely Nick!

It's mostly an LJ thing but as long as it say's Suzuki it is welcome in here and at our meets.

Sounds like a cool rig, can't wait to see the pics.

Haven't been but I hear the museum there is absolutely first rate.

We'll see you there!

I'm trying to get Pat and Stephen to bring their LJ20, but they'll be in the middle of a 3-4 month trip, and they're not sure they want to haul it the whole trip.

Well a quick update. No samurai for me.
I was able to convince my friend to keep it.
Think its the better thing to do. He would really regret selling it.
He is going to put it beside the house for the winter, and finish the last few things in the spring.

Cheers,
N.

Yeah, well you really wanted an LJ anyway, right?

Can't you run it trough the winter and sell it back to him when he wants it? It would give you a ride and the time to find an lj...

I could, but its probably better he just keeps it (for a bunch of reasons).
Plus as Steve said, I wanted an LJ more anyways.

Just did Drumheller a few weeks ago, had to stay two extra days because a rock took out my oil pan on the way there, stupid vw's with no ground clearance. The museum is pretty cool and the reptile place (sorta like a little reptile zoo) was a hit with Sebastian too. Don't plan on doing much else there though because there is nothing else.
Can't wait for next year!!

Where is the meet exacly?

We're planning for Waiparous or McLean Creek area, between Calgary and Banff. A lot of the trails at Waiparous were closed down last year or the year before (apparently most of the harder stuff), but there are still a lot of trails open. I've heard there's a push to shut down everything at McLean Creek, and that may happen as soon as next spring, so for now I'm focusing on Waiparous.

The meets aren't about hard core wheeling, since a majority of our rigs are stock, in fact at this year's meet the only reason I needed low range was because the altitude sucked out most of the engines power. It's nice to go somewhere where you can meet and hang out with people from here, tool around on dirt roads or mild trails with nice scenery, but also have a few challenges available for those with modified rigs.

I'll have a modified rig but im not comin fer some nasty wheelin, just comin for the experience of drivin cross country to goto a meeting of a buncha fools that share the same admiration fer these things as me, plus i bet the scenery is gunna be awesome and please the misses

I keep trying to convince the wife that she is going to come along, but she's just not too keen on riding down in the zuki, its only about 6 hours max

Perhaps I should tell her that she has to drive down in the support truck :D

My girlfriend and I last year drove my SJ 413K down to Washington and back. About 1600 km's, plus wheeling it in between.

Yep and the wife and I did about the same in Suzy, an 80V. Same meet and believe me Ruby's K sure has a lot more room for gear than a V.

I WISH it was only 6 hours for me. But then, I'm bringing LJ10's, with a top speed of 50mph (80km/h), so I'm trailering them.

Still trying to convince mom and stepdad to bring their LJ20 too. We're going to Glacier NP, probably the week before the meet, and I want to take the LJ's on the Going to the Sun Road. (Max. length restriction is now 22 feet, so I can't even take my truck with the camper on it.

AWESOME place!!!!!

National Geographics and Traveler motivated me to visit so many of North America's great places....This was one of them.

It is an awesome place... I haven't been there in about 10 years, so I can't wait to go back. The glaciers are receding quickly - they were huge when I was a kid, much smaller last time, and from what I've been reading, they'll be completely gone in another 5 years or so.

I remember when I was a kid, there were no restrictions on vehicles travelling the Going to the Sun Road. We towed our travel trailer over it, and others brought motorhomes. Got pretty scary in some of the narrow parts!

I thought the entire point of having an LJ was to avoid hiking! Why would these boys go wandering off without a Motor Vehicle? And I'm sure they wouldn't get lost, or make trouble or get eaten by a bear....
