So far I have Myself and my family, Jimny, the Friesens, nick, and Ruby as going. Already that's 14 people and 7 LJ's (eight if nick has one by then!) Smuz had expressed a lot of interest in the Banff area, and deimos and Jr. I think were interested too. Idahopaul has been very quiet lately, but hopefully we can get him to show up too. TheSarg and gobig are going to try and make it too. If anyone else plans to go, please post up here or email/PM me, so we have an idea of how many to expect!

More then try, both my wife and i have always expressed interest in driving across the country and this is a perfect opportunity. It also falls just after combine season at work so i can actually take the time off

Ok then, thesarg is no longer on the "maybe" list. Any kids coming with you? Also, please let me know what you'll be bringing as far as two rig, camping facilities (i.e. tent, motorhome) so we'll know what to expect.

Smuz is now officially on the "confirmed" list, so that's 20 people and 10 rigs already!

Note: Jimny, I have you down for one rig, and I have Smuz down for two people and two rigs. I figure these numbers may change between now and the meet, depending on how much Smuz can fit behind the Xena-pig, but that's what I have you down for. :D

I would love to come but not until I win the lottery :pissed: I just looked at the prices of planetickets... 750 euro for a 2 way ticket x 2 + rental car + a place to stay = 1 restored lj... But when I win the big prize I'll be there

frankenstein: We can save you the rental by coming to pick you up at the local airport, the place to stay is easy, I'll bring an extra tent and sleeping bags, and you can drive Dakota...

Steve: I will be bringing two LJ's and maybe two or three of us will be going.

Ruby: Can't WAIT to try some good Canadian beer!

I know, but when we come to Canada we want to do a 3 week tour trough the country and I don't think we have enough money saved up by then. And my wife probably can't take time off of work in that month...

3 week tour... now THAT'S the way to do it. I'm thinking about doing at least a one + week of a tour while up there.

Sounds like my rig!

We're taking two weeks off, so we can spend some time up there. My mom and stepdad bought that LJ20 over the weekend (they're picking it up today), so I need to convince them to haul it up there for the meet. They are thinking of making it a 2-3 month trip (must be nice to be retired!), and don't want to haul the LJ around the whole time.

Tweeder - hope you can make it! I'm sure Jimny will give you a ride, he'll need someone to push when he breaks down!
I'm buying a 2003 Toyota Tundra, I won't break down (knock on wood) again!

Well we drink what we can down here, but when we come up we will be drinking REAL beer!!!

I'm leaning towards a Tundra as well. Should be a good time up here

All I have heard is great things about them. A friend of mine has one and he loves it.

I owned a 1979 Toyota Celica back in 84 and I gave that car hell for 3 years and all I replaced was the battery once and one wheel where I bent it going sideways around a corner and hit the curb.

It's only what, a couple of hours drive? And you have almost a year to get your LJ in shape!

Updates, who's comin'. I actualy drove through Lake Louis / Banff a few weeks ago. Sure is a nice place. The thing to be aware of is that it's all park land so you can't really just go offroading and camping wherever.

Yeah, there's no wheelin' in the park... There are a couple of ORV areas between Banff and Calgary though (i.e. Waiparous), I thought we could have the meet in one of these ORV areas, then if some want to tour the area, they can.

I'm planning to spend a few days in Glacier/Waterton Lake park, and also head up to Jasper, and anywhere else I have time to go, but most of the time the LJ's will be on the trailer.

We did the dinosaur provincial park and the royal terrell museum. Also stopped at head smashed in buffalo jump. Great places to see.

I looked up those places, they all look neat! We did Dinosaur National Monument on th eway to the 2005 meet (while waiting for a new transmisssion), but didn't know there was one in Canada too.

The buffalo jump looks like it's on our way between Waterton Lake and Banff/Calgary, so I'm sure we'll stop there!

Looks like I might have a zuk now!
My buddy is selling his 87 long wheel base sammi.
Not and LJ I know. But he is selling it for a great price.

I will post pics and description and everything if I get it.

To bad he rebuilt the tub. A LWB sammi would be a great base for a LJ stretch. Maybe a troopie or 4 door. :) It would be a lot of work,. but with the LJ's being so sqaure, and just metal (no trim), I think it would be worth tackling. Anyways, I will just leave it as a sammi, its a 87 so it has the nice dash. I really dislike the later ones (88.5+)

Anyways, if I get a sammi can I stay in the club?
I know this is a LJ club. But the SJ's are here, and there is a sammi section?

Cheers,
Nick
