Jimny, did you get your tickets yet?

I can't believe it's only a month away already! I currently have the following people signed up as going:

Myself and family: 4 adults, 2 kids, 2 or 3 LJ's
Smuz: 2 adults, 1-2 LJ's
Myers: 2 adults, 1 LJ
Ruby: 2 adults, one LJ?
TheSarg: 2 adults, 1 child, one LJ
Rick Friesen: 2 adults, 1 LJ.
Redsnodog: 2 adults, 1 LJ
Woodchopper: 1 adult, 1 LJ?

Possibles:
Idahopaul
Krazy Larry
Suzy
Tweeder/Tweedy Bird?
lj20colorado
Nick

Please let me know if anything changes, or if you are planning to go but not on this list. I want to make sure I have enough meat for everyone. I'm also going to send out a couple of PM's to everyone going with my contact info, etc.

My truck has a CB, and I'll be monitoring channel 23 when I get close. At this point I'm planning on bringing the RHD and the LJ20V (lockable storage!) If my parents get a trailer and want to bring one of mine, they'll have the yellow LJ10.

We will be dispersed camping, or "random camping" as they call it in parts of Canada. There are a number of group sites for discpersed camping up there, so I'll probably just grab the first available one, and then post signs to it. There should be a couple of information kiosks there too, that I can post a message on. If you have a CB, tune it to channel 23 and call out. I doubt there will be any cell phone coverage there, but I'll have my phone with me, and will try to keep it turned on.

To program your TomTom, Waiparous may not show up, so put in Cochrane, AB, then follow the directions I posted.

I thought the entire point of having an LJ was to avoid hiking! Why would these boys go wandering off without a Motor Vehicle? And I'm sure they wouldn't get lost, or make trouble or get eaten by a bear....
or end up in the hospital, isn't that right Jr.
Ya know to be honest, the only thing I remember was sliding down the hill and then I woke up the next morning :ohno: and don't blame the girls steve i would've gone up there out of curiosity anyway.

Pop and I won't be making this one... the lj isn't running and Dad's still upset about the last meet when we got all the way to Montana and the lj didn't run and the ol' tow rig (and trailor) almost didn't make the drive home. Hope you guys have fun though, I'd really like to go

We'll have fun, no matter who shows up (though I am hoping that more people make it there than last year!)

And we'll get that LJ10 of yours running good for next year's meet, or maybe a NW run later this summer.

It has to be the exhaust. We took it apart and cleaned it and it went from running at 30% to about 85% (it was running good enough that we could drive it around town) but there was still stuff in the expansion chamber and muffler that we coulnd't get out when we put it back on so something must have come loose when we were going up that hill and blocked it off again. Also Steve gave us a new air filter and when we got home it was running better because of that and the elevation different.

Have been told that a long time ago, young guys might stuff a spud up the exhaust pipe of someone’s pickup trying to accomplish just what happened to your LJ. Would hate to think of a kid bad enough to do that, especially just because they got chased out of a watermelon patch.
Anyway, spuds, coke, mud or whatever, if the exhaust is plugged, it don’t run or don’t run very good. If you have access to ox/Acetylene torch and compressed air, the decoking procedure I used will clean it very good. Takes some time, but can be done safely with a little understanding and patience. If I lived closer, I would clean it for you. All it would cost you in a nice ripe watermelon
Anyway, good luck Jr. and wish you two were able to make it to the Canada meet. I envy you in being where you are at while still at a young age. That is unless you are an old man in disguise then I will envy you for the disguise.
