Who made it home and Pics of the meet.

Post by Jimny »

I most likely am the first to be home. We had a great time and a very good turn out for LJ's.

We had two Sami's show up, one from Topeka Kansas and the other from Oklahoma City, OK.

Tweeder Jr - 1 LJ
Tweeder Sr - 1 LJ
Smuz - 2 LJ's
Shane (Smuz's son) 1 - Sidekick
Meyers - 1 LJ
Russ - 1 LJ
Jimny - 1 LJ
Vagabond - 1 Sami
OK City - 1 Sami

Tweeder Jr had some engine problems, his LJ died on him going up a hill and it rolled back before he could do the double pump of his brakes and the engine started backwards and it backfired and in turn broke a couple jug bolts and stripped a couple more.

Russ had some fuel problems and after the guys from Ok City let him borrow a electric fuel pump and it pumped out some nasty stuff and after that his LJ fuel pumped worked great.

Had great time!!!!!
I'd rather be driving my LJ!

I left my card  for my digital camera at home so I had to buy a couple throw away cams so I have to get them developed.

But Meyers will be posting some.

Yeah we should have took the rigs pic Saturday evening not Sunday morning, Meyers had already loaded and headed towards home when we took the pics.

But we do have pics of the whole clan that we will be posting soon.

I tell ya... that was the best 4x4 weekend I have ever had, it was a good time out 4 wheelin then when we got back to the camp site we weren't too wore out and was able to sit around the camp and chat.

That was the first time that Russ and I was able to actually talk to one another without being in a hurry, the first time we met in person we both had to get going and was only able to chat for 20 minutes or so.

Smuz was calm and for the most part peaceful, I know he must have been still hurting or on good pain drugs because he only insulted me 10 to 12 times.

Larry (Meyers) and his wife had a great time and was very interesting to chat with, Russ the Meyers and I ate breakfast together at a local restaurant Sunday morning just before the Meyers headed off towards home.

Vagabond and his wife were very nice people, they drove their Sami all the way from Topeka, it was a very capable 4-wheeling machine.

TR made it with his girlfriend, I let them drive Ranger while I hitched rides with whoever had an open spot: Russ, Smuz and Shane. Tr didn't know how to drive Ranger since he now has brakes on it, it's hard not to want to double pump them since we had to that all it's life till now since I put on disc brakes.

Tweeder Sr and Jr brought their LJ's that were in very nice shape, and Jr only insulted me 8 to 10 times  plus I finally got to meet Sr's wife.

The camp was full of motorcycle rock climbers, those things are awesome, the balance they have with them and they only weight around 150 pounds (68 kg) each.

Only breakdowns we had were Russ' fuel pump but we did get it fixed and Tweeder's (Jr) broken jug bolts which we could not fix. Not bad at all.

Didn't ya do a rig inspection before heading out on the trails? Why the "double pump"?

We wouldn't remove someone for something like this

(it's more fun to keep 'em around and mess with 'em!)

Smuz has (at least one) digital camp photo... and it's posted! I don't think he wanted to take his nice camera on the trail. And it is a nice camera, isn't it Smuz?
