Hope you don't mind, but that Lake Abundance picture is now my screen saver.

In So cal, it's all desert. Nice to see some greenery!

Steve, help needed.

Post by Myers »

Steve, this old codger needs help on a couple of issues.

1. I am not able to consistently view the pics you added to web site. Sometimes they are there and sometimes they are not. What am I doing wrong.

2. The pics I took at Cooke City make too large of file to add to web site. It may be due to my taking them in "Big Sky" Country. Anyway, if you will provide some direction I will try to get some on the web site.

Thanks friend.

Yep, that was us that put the note on your windshield. Too hot and dry on that side of Yellowstone for us so we were in a hurry to get back to the other side.

That looks awesome  The rhd looks really good. I like the wheels on it, shame we don't have them here. Would look nice on the 410.

Hey Larry the reason why sometimes you can see the pics and sometimes you can't is most likely you are not logged on at the time, you can only view pics when you are logged on.

As for the pics you have, email them to me and I will resize them and up load them for you.

I also just upped your quota limit on uploading pics. If you want you can try again.
I'd rather be driving my LJ!

I actually did resize them, just not small enough. I was torn as to whether or not they should be smaller; maybe I'll resize them again...

No problem with using them as wallpaper - that's what I did too!

BTW, that is my 9yo in the pic with the Myer's.

Jr., I have a couple of pics of your LJ with the lineup at camp. I'll get to those tomorrow. It's a shame you guys couldn't get it out on the trails. My mom is having 'puter problems, but I'll see her next weekend, and try to get her pictures (of the Lulu Pass side) then.

We all laughed, and figured it was you! (Either that, or someone else who had seen your LJ!) I remember as a kid the Mammoth area was incredibly beautiful, then after the earthquake the activity died off, and the thermal areas were a dull grey. It's nice to see it coming back again. I don't like the hot, dry weather either, so we only spent Sunday night and Monday morning there, but we had skipped it the last few trips to YNP, and Linda and the girls had never been there yet, so we wanted to spend a little time there. We spent Monday night in Madison, and Tues. - Fri. nights at Bridge Bay.

I got two emails with pics from you last night, and one more this morning at work. I'll resize the pictures tonight, and load them up. I will also resize the pics I posted. I think the size of the pics may be why you can see them sometimes, and not others (depending on how much memory your computer is using). Let me know if you still have problems after I resize them.

I was able to resize Myer's pictures from the meet. The rest are at home; I'll get them up tonight or tomorrow.

For the rest of the trip, Amber kept asking to drive the LJ again! Unfortunately, we weren't in an area where she could, but how many nine year olds get to drive an LJ at all? (ok, besides you Jr.!) The campground had just opened for the season the day before, so it was still pretty empty, and I put it in low range, first gear, so all she had to do was work the steering wheel, and the gas and brake pedals. She had the biggest smile on her face the rest of that evening!

Sorry Frankenstein, I just noticed this post...

Those are the optional "Tacoma" wheels for the LJ10 and LJ20. I have two sets of four; these are the ones I blasted and painted for the meet. Apparently they made a slight change during the production run - the valve stem is in a different place on the two sets, so they don't match exactly!

It ended up being a pretty long drive for us to not have the LJ run properly. It was running at about 80% before we left and we were hoping to finish dialing it in with the help of the LJ gear-heads. Oh well, it was still a pretty nice trip and we really enjoyed our (short) journey through Yellowstone.

Tweeder, if nobody else has done it yet, email me the pics and I'll stitch em together. klrdeimos_AT_hotmail

Thanks for putting this thing together again Steve!

Yes, to busy at the moment, sorry.
Deimos, I've sent you Tweeder's pics, may be you can get a better result.
BTW Because of spam, I wouldn't write my email-address in a forum-topic.

Here are my panoramas in a smaller version

Image
In the larger version, you can see, that the I of CRUISER is missing :-(

Aswell, the larger version has some mistakes.

Did you ever get your exhaust cleaned out? I think we figured that was your problem. I think I still have the rainfly for your tent, I'll bring it to the meeting if you're going to be there. I can also bring it to Liberty if you're going up for the meteor shower. If you bring the LJ, maybe we can work on it too. Whatever the problem, it WILL run better at Liberty, due to the lower elevation!

Herald, good tip on the email address. Don't know what I was thinking!

I'll try to get to the picture this evening.

Steve,
Never got the exhaust cleared out. I just parked it in the barn when I got home and set up a temporary work bench in my side of the the garage for the kids to work on models for a few weeks. (Jr. occupies the other side of the garage, not the wife). I probably won't work on it for a couple of months. I'm hoping to make next weeks meeting so I can get the rain-fly from ya then... as well as the LJ doors?
