Who is coming to the 2007 meet?
So who's planning to go? Let me know whether you're "maybe" going or definitely going, so I can plan for space, food, etc. Include # of adults, # of kids, LJ(s), tow rigs, and camping facilities (i.e. tent, RV).
I'll be there with the camper and trailer, with two LJ's on the trailer. Don't yet know which LJ's for sure, but I'm hoping to bring the two LJ10's. My mom and stepdad will probably be there in their motorhome as well, but probably will not be towing an LJ. They'll probably go over and watch the wolves in Yellowstone during the day anyway.

The only difference between an ordeal and an adventure is your attitude

Here's a link to a local club run to the area this past August...

Well, if you fish in Yellowstone Lake and catch a Lake Trout, you can keep it, and they get pretty big. If you take it to the ranger station, they'll even clean it for you, and remove the head. They're a nuisance fish that got introduced by mistake, and are eating the native Cutthroat, so they want them out of the lake. They clean them for you because they are studying the best way to remove them without significantly affecting the Cutthroat population.
It used to be that you could keep Cutthroat UNDER 13 inches in Yellowstone Lake. The bigger ones need to stay as breeding stock. Up until about 10 years ago (when the Lakers started having an impact, and whirling disease began sickening the native fish), we used to go there almost every year to fish. We averaged about 5 fish per person per hour, but rarely caught anything small enough to keep. Average size was about 17". Last time we were there (on the way to the CO meet), we only fished one day, for about 3 hours. I caught the most with four fish. The next day My stepdad caught two Lakers, including one that was over 24" and 4 lbs.

Getting rid of invasive fish species is very tricky and sometimes takes drastic measures (poisoning). People always transport these fish to lakes just for sport fishing but don't realize that it completely screws things up for the native species. I do my share of fly fishing but fishing with traditional methods (dip net, spears etc) really is my thing.
Revolving door of LJ's, currently down to one LJ 81
OK, so far we've got myself, Suzy, and minipigg as going, tweeder, nick, and Jimny as "maybe's", and Ruby maybe fishing nearby. I'm gonna put Idahopaul down as a maybe, but I suspect he'll be there, since it isn't too far for him. I'm expecting Dion to show up, as well as deimos and jr., and maybe Jeff. Haven't heard a peep out of Smuz yet...

I WILL be there, I will not have an LJ with me though. Just my everyday driver Heep. (Jeep brand for those of you that doesn't know what a Heep is).
Planning on going to Yellowstone before the meet, staying there possibly a week. Going to wreck Steve's vacation with his family.

I'd rather be driving my LJ!
