Molasses rust removal actually works!

Post by Banzai » Fri Aug 07, 2015 6:43 pm

I put some parts in a tote a few weeks ago (ok, so probably 2 months ago), and tonight, when I was fishing around for the spring/shock plates, they actually looked pretty good! I tried to take pictures, but sometime my phone takes "orange coloured" pictures, and tonight was one of those times.

One part molasses to 9 parts of water. It smells horrid (like fermenting), but is supposedly non-toxic. Didn't do anything where there was paint, but the bare metal rinsed off to a dull grey, raw metal look. I was pleasantly surprised.

You can see videos all over youtube. Check it out and give it a shot. I threw a few more parts in there just for kicks.
