Re: Kelowna
Aaron I'm glad you got your rig running. Maybe you can go up to the lake the way everyone is coming out the next morning. Then your trailer is at the right spot for the morning as well.
Right now everything looks like I should be there riding shotgun with my brother. Lets just hope that my wife doesn't go into labour while we are out camping. That would not go over so well.
Saturday is close boys, here we go!!

Sounds good Colin, I might not have the phone once I leave the house, so if you read this before you leave, make sure you have Al's number that I pm'd you too. You should be fine though.

Re: Kelowna
These are the directions for going the short way to the lake. I haven't looked at them yet, so I hope it makes sense:
this might be a bit long but it needs to be mapquest to Goudie rd:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Kelowna ... =Goudie+Rd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Right, a bit tough to find maybe but not if they pay attention, They need to head towards big white on hwy 33, they will climb a hill out of Black Mountain there are some signs on building a golf course that say Black Mountain - but it isn't far past the main subdivisions. Around a sweeping corner to the left the road starts to go down slightly after the corner there is a center left turn lane - the only one. Goudie rd shoots off almost straight ahead up hill - they need to take this rd. They have gone to far if they hit a really tight right turn almost right after Goudie - they will know it if they go to far.

Re: Kelowna
Just to add to the directions. Once you turn left onto goudie rd. there are many offshoots. Take a left on the one that says goudie or will have a sign that says james lake forest service rd. There will be a small volunteer fire hall ( concrete building on that corner about 100 yards up) That is the correct rd. Carry on untill the pavement ends and go onto the gravel. You will cross a cattle guard and then the road will fork. Take the left fork. Stay on that road until you see a turnoff for james lake on the right. The lake is about a quarter of a mile in. Good luck. Hope this helps anyone not familiar with the area. Norm

#%&*#!@^!!!!!
Why is it my truck will get me to work everyday without a problem, but when its time for a little r & r that I've really been looking forward to, the b*t*h decides to take a break
She won't start and I'm not going to drive the LJ up (I wouldn't see you until Monday if that was the case)
I'm working on it and will try to get up there this afternoon.
I spoke with Al and he's given directions, so hopfully I'll see you later.
I feel like I've been stood up on a date or something !

See you guys in the morning, altho its fairly pointless saying that becasue you are already out haha, would of loved to have done the 2 days, damn this wedding!
Norm, I have pm'd you some info incase anything changes between now and the morning, as I don't have access to the internet unless I pay for it at the hotel.

Re: Kelowna
Well, the wedding should be in the books, so congratulations Rick!
Hope the meet went well; let's see some pictures! As for me, I spent an hour and a half Saturday drilling out one of the lower alt. bracket bolts that had broken off in the side of the LJ81's engine. Slow and steady did it - I didn't mess up the threads at all, and got new bolts in and put it back together. Still waiting on my exhaust manifold, so I tore into a spare LJ20 tranny and rebuilt it. Got it all done and back together (I think I spent 3/4's of the time just cleaning it!), except that pesky output seal.

Re: Kelowna
Hey everybody. Congratulations to everyone that made it out to the meet in Kelowna. Sorry Steve and Colin didn't make it. I personally had a great time as did my daughter on the sunday run. Great meeting all of you in person. Have a bunch of pics but not sure to get them on here. Computers are not my strong point. Will try to get a pic on. Norm (anyone know how to downsize pics?)

Re: Kelowna
You can use a program like photoshop and most digital camera's come with a program like that. Or you can do it online on a site like this one http://www.resizepic.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . 640x480 is a good size.

Re: Kelowna
I had an awesome time wheeling! It was nice to finally get out this year.
Al has asked me to put together the names and rig info (any modification info, axles, transfer case, etc) on the people who came to the meet. So if you all could PM me that, I'll put it all together along with a bunch of LJ info for him. Also if any of you have definitive info on LJ's that you think he should know, feel free to PM me that too.
Thanks to everyone that came, it was great to meet all of you and be out wheeling!!
Rick
I'd post pictures but I don't have any. My brother and everyone else should have lots though.

Re: Kelowna
Yeah, it was a pretty great time. I was bummed to have to leave early, but when I rolled into Vancouver at 11:00, I realized I probably had a pretty full day. Did you guys actually make it to the top of the hill?
Anyways, I don't have many pictures as we forgot our camera, but Kendra (My wife) took some on her iphone so here they are. I'm sure Glen's pictures will chronicle the trip a lot better though.

Re: Kelowna
hahaha, glad you could make it for Sunday anyway, but yeah, it was pretty fun on Saturday there. I'd be up for doing that kind of wheeling way more often if I could!Ruby wrote:Man I wish I was there the first day, that looked fun! Instead I was in a pre natal class watching a childbirth on video
Tyrel, it's too bad you couldn't make it, you could have taken on the rock pile with Al and showed him how a Suzuki does it.
Good pictures Glen, glad you got some on here finally!

Re: Kelowna
Aaron, my only advice is get her to go for the epidural, my wife says it's the best birth plan ever.

Last ones
Stu on an alternate route everyone at the second cabin heading out Was a great time for all.
I had a bit of a stressful trip home as when we got out of the bush to cell coverage I had messages from my wife that she had headed to the hospital to get checked out. All turned out alright but they did keep her for two nights. Just need those babies to hold on in there for a few more weeks.
