Have not given up on a pump rebuild just thaughe it would be quicker to get a pump and then try a rebuild. that will give me more time to figer it out and do it right the first time (I hope)Myers wrote:Great news to hear. Would of been even better had you said you found out how to rebuild the pump. Also later should be cooler....

I thought that I posted that they can't be rebuilt. I must have thought about posting it but didn't.
They are glued in and the can't be pressed out, I mean you might get lucky but I doubt it. I guess you could soak them in a solvent that will loosen up expoxy/glue.

Jimny; believe you did post it but some would still like to see it done which is ok.
Tweedy Bird; Some said to heat it. Could not hurt anything to try. Also, Permatex Gasket Remover has stuff in it which will soften (not disolve) epoxy but heat seems better.
Once I was told by several folks that you could not cut tempered glass.
My reply; "you can cut anything if you have the right stuff" so I tried.
My learning; You can cut tempered glass with a masonary blade in a skill saw but you end up with a garage covered with little tiny pieces.

My thaughts are to cook the pump in a 400* oven to melt the glue first then press it out. I will let all Know if this trick works.

Re: Mini meet in Prairie Grove Arkansas...
I'd be interested to know if it works. New pumps aren't cheap, and they also won't be available forever, so an alternative would be nice to have.

Re: Mini meet in Prairie Grove Arkansas...
Heating would need to be limited to just enough to soften the glue so as to help to limit distortion of the cast aluminum when in the press.
And if that is successful then there will be a need to find a source for the proper bearing /seal. One of the steps in discovery is to start.

You mean Jimny doesn't have electricity at his house?
Oh, I bet your dad needs 50amp for his A/C, doesn't he! I can just plug my camper into a wall outlet (no A/C).

I even have running (county) water out there now!
Yeah I bet your right Steve, and where I have connections (50 amp) is too far away from where he could camp.

Re: Mini meet in Prairie Grove Arkansas...
Sorry to hear that. Around here, the county and city water has been treated so much, it tastes like cr@p. Our town has it's own well, instead of using the watershed (i.e. reservoir), so they don't have to treat it as much. It tastes fine out of the tap, so we don't have to buy bottled water. Best part is our water bill is only $23/month.Jimny wrote:I even have running (county) water out there now!

Well... although Devils Den is 5 miles from my house you have to drive 15 miles to get there by road and there are no short cuts.
I have a level area under the large shade tree or away from it, depends on how long of a cord he has.

The water here is SO MUCH better then what it is in town, It's smells (the town water) and tastes terrible but the water here is great I am so surprised for being so far out.
The line ends at my property so I have so much pressure I have to use a regulator, one day the old regulator (got a new one now) starting messing up and was letting way too much pressure through and a couple lines under my sinks were blowing their seals (O-rings).

That's good, when folks not far from here got the "good water" a lot of them got a lot of burst pipes, and many of those were in walls, cielings etc.Jimny wrote: a couple lines under my sinks were blowing their seals (O-rings).
