stevec wrote:FYI, we currently have 31 people who are "definitely" going to attend, including 21 adults and 10 kids. "Kid" means someone under 18, otherwise it'd be more like 4 adults and 27 kids. Also show a total of 13 LJ's, but this includes 3 for Jimny, and I don't think he has all three anymore.

There's still about 10 people and 8 LJ's listed as "maybe". Hopefully most of these "maybe's" can go, so we can lower the ratio of persons to LJ's! Also, don't have any Canadians on the list at all...what's up with that? Aren't any of you even going to TRY and come? I mean, come on, if Jock can make it all the way from Australia...
Hasn't changed in the past couple of weeks, except a couple of new "maybe"'s...

Update: As of today, I show 39 people (23 adults, 16 kids) confirmed, and 14 rigs. Looking at my list, I only have one Carry (L41); weren't you bringing your L40V, Russ? Still have at least a dozen "maybe"'s, with at least 8 more rigs, including one more Carry. I might rig some seatbelts for the rear seat of my LJ10, so the kids can ride back there, and a couple more front seats will be freed up.

On most of my wheeling trips, 14 rigs is just too many for one group. We'll be on pretty easy terrain, so it may not be an issue, but if there's traffic I don't want our group to be holding it up, and I expect the numbers to increase. One option is for us to split into two groups, and each go one way, meeting in the middle. I believe if we did this, the Carry's could go the same way up and back (switching groups in the middle) and avoiding the rougher portions. Have to look into it more, but it's not anything that needs to be decided before we all get there. I just thought I should bring these things up in case anyone has any thoughts.

No L40V coming unless I win the Lottery. (New truck, big trailer) I'm going thru payless paydays..... :pissed: it is going to be tough to get it all presentable. Functional, yes, presentable... Oh well. A whole lot of our lives are on hold for the moment.

I feel yer payless pain. I'm going thru the same thing.

Functional will work. My junk is gonna be a LOT more functional than presentable. That's if they function at all.

Who cares about presentable? As long as it is functional. Mine will NOT be presentable but it will 4x4able!

Update on my sorry state....
Decided to buy a Winnebago yesterday. Big leap of faith.... (found on Ebay), needs WORK. Just might be able to make the 4000 miles I'll need to cram in between June 17 and July 5.
Oh, and did I mention this is a 1972, to match my LJ20?
Managed to drive it the 100 miles home without a tow truck!
I sure hope getting to see all of you in person is worth the work.
:D

Yeah, you do....
But I got more miles to drive with this run down Winnebago, if we weren't going to Wichita, I'd probably want to get you in trouble with the police by parking in front of your house.....

Can't wait....

I dunno about the police, but I'm very well known to the Lenexa codes enforcement officer.

Thank God for Wichita.

I bet you are!!! If I lived in town (when I was in MO) they would know me very well too.

So am I going to get a prize for the least amount of miles driven? Huh Huh, I will most likly bring two tow vehicles, so I get to count double miles, right. Huh Huh

Russ, I had a 72 Winnie when I lived in Idaho. Got it running, it had been sitting for 8 years. Was going to be my tow vehicle, but got orders to Japan before I actually ever used it. Was going to be great. Top speed about maybe 55 MPH. We called her Ethal. We also had a teardrop pull trailer we call Lucie. Wish I had it now.

Yep, still here.

I just want to tell yall that checking these forums and a few others is the highlight of my day.

I am locked out of so much stuff (i.e. no yahoo mail for me) that I am surprized I am able to still get here.
