I just can't wait to meet him in person... I've been thinking of down loading a picture of his and using it as a pin up... or was that target? I get so confused some times....
Russ

Maybe we should be selling his autograph as a way to make money to buy us all T-shirts?

I'll take a shirt, hat, whatever. The more you make the cheaper it will be. I really don't think I will be going but it would be cool to wear to my local suzi club meeting. I don't have a spare $2500 for airfares, accomodation, spending money, etc. but if I did I would be on my way.

Well jock, you've got over a year to save up!

I've got a neighbor who can make up t-shirts and hats. I'm about to have her do it for my 4x4 club; she can do smaller quantities at reasonable prices. We do need a design though...

I've been thinking... maybe a trail map on the top half, text "Aspen Loop 2005"and LJ10.com Logo w/ steering wheels underneath or something like that. Any problem with using the Suzuki "S" and the copyright lawyers? I'm sure we could find one to paste into a picture somewhere.

Well Stevec I am seriously considering it. I may have a shut down on at work in may so will have some mega bucks coming in for a few weeks. Last shut down I was earning between $2200 and $3100 before tax a week. ( 86 hour week) I earned $12000 for five weeks work. And I blew it all. Will consult the boss at work and look into a decent holiday over there. I am also into Off road Racing so I will look into what races are on and organise something. Nothing definite yet, but will get a list of things to do and consult my mates mum who is a travel agent and see what she can do for me. But if I come I better get a shirt.

FREE BEER!!!!!! :whiskey:
And two free shirts, sweeeet!!!!! Try and stop me coming.

Seriously I talked to the boss and the shutdown finishes end of may so should be sweet. Guess I don't buy a house for another year. Opened a bank account on the way home so I can transfer money in weekly. I guess I will have to give up my Ebay addiction too. I will let you know later in the year how the savings are going.

Still looking around for things to do. Any suggestions on whats good to see over there. I know that's a pretty broad question but I'll let you come up with ideas. Disneyland and all that sort of stuff are OUT.

I will be bringing an extra LJ20O for someone to drive so that might as well be you.

As for sites to see, other then the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Not to far away is Yellowstone National Park that has Ole' Faithful.

I'm blank...someone else will have to give you some more ideas.

Another thought for t-shirts:

I've got the "Suzuki Brute Four Wheel Drive" original iron-on on disk. How 'bout that on the back, and something smaller on the front?

that sounds cool, with something about the get together 2005. it would be cool to put a picture of a brute under the"Suzuki Brute Four Wheel Drive" slogan.

Wow:hail: Thanks Jimny. :hail:
Thats a awesome offer. That has definitely made me start saving. Transferred the first $100 in to the savings account tonight. Got no handbrake (wife, girlfriend) so I will be coming alone. Unless I can convince some of my mates to come. The reason I asked for other things to do is I was planning on staying over the for about a month. I will never make it back to the States again so What are your top suggestions of things that I couldn't miss out on doing whilst in your country. ( and where not to waste my time going) Any where at all. Don't mind driving for long times. The most I have ever driven in one day is 1400kms (850 miles).

And I want to take one home too. A lj20 that is. Stock soft top. Want to bring it back here to Australia. There is only about five in the country. So I will have to end my trip on the west coast so shipping will be cheaper. Have to sit down with a map and work out where to start and finish. So if any of you are interested in selling an lj20 with the original motor let us know. Or if you can help me find one. Rust is no problem as long as it's mechanically sound ( as best as you would expect for a 31 year old car) This weekend I will sit down and have a look at some maps and so forth.

No I'm sorry Jock but we just can't let you take an LJ20 out of our country to take to yours! Nope just can't let you do it! Just kidding LOL! We can find you one and maybe one close to the west coast so you won't be hauling it all over the USA.

BUT in return you will have to tell me places I can go when and If I go to Australia, I have only been to Germany but I've been looking to go Australia.

You have got to go to Las Vegas to see the lights and buildings etc and it will be on your way to the west coast. On the way there is the Grand Canyon and the Hoover dam, there you can take a Dam Tour.

In LA California is Universal Theme Park it is a cool place to go, they have an awesome 3-D movie there that looks so damn real, I was reaching into the air trying to grab something that wasn't there but it sure did look like it was.

There are tons of other places to go too. I will post them as they come to me,

Thanks Jimny will do. But remember if you come over here you have to be prepared to drive a fair way to get anywhere. This country is roughly the same size as yours with a tenth of the population. There is only SIX capital cities. And its at least 600 miles between them all. ( There are more people in New york than the whole of this country!

If you come you have to go to Fraser island. No ifs no buts. It's the worlds biggest sand island and it is the most magical place. . When I get my own place your certainly welcome to come and stay with me.

Been looking at some maps and will probably just do the western half. There is way to much to see on the east coast. Start in Wisconsin at the cranden racetrack cruise down and around to colorado ( I know it's a long way) across to Idaho and down to the grand canyon and into Las Vegas then up to San fransico. I would love to drive an LJ across the Golden gate bridge. Drop the car off at a freight forwarders and hop a plane a go home. Pretty rough so far but its a start.
