Info coming in from the meet...
A couple of the participants of the meet was supposed to contact me if there was any cell phone towers close enough to get a signal, but looks like there isn't any.
I did get a call from Russmehl he was running late after having some vehicle trouble, he was in Silverton which he said had a cell tower in town, but that is 5 miles from where the meet is.
So no updates today! Sorry

Hey Smuz! Glad to hear that you made it home. I'm assuming that both rigs made it home alright since they made it to the meet in great shape. I didn't post a reply because I was too busy doing things, like trying to stop smelling like a campsite. hehe. We found some water barrels at a store on the way home so of course we had to get them. We got an extra one so we will be ready for next year, or anytime we go camping before then. Hopefully everyone else is making it home okay too. We will keep looking at the posts throughout the week.

I have a useless NexTel which has NO signal unless yer inna town over 100K!
Besides that, you never ASKED me to call you, so's I didn't.
But I did get DAMN worried about Steve and Russ. They both showed up, tho.

So here is how it went...
We left three days late. The trailer tried to shed one of its lights, the manifold studs needed tightening on a daily basis for the first 7 days & the steering box filled every other day. The bolts holding the head pipe to the manifold lost their nuts and lock washers and the escaping gas heated the frame which melted - 1. the wiring harness to the lights (running, brake, etc.) 2. the remote starter for the generator 3. the block that holds the wires at the starter. When the gas tanks got low, the crud on the bottom blocked the crossover valve (switch tanks every half mile until we got on a not so bumpy piece of road). The muffler collapsed internally and tried to block the exhaust (no power!) 'Frig stops working on gas, cools only on 110V. Buy ice.....buy ice. The belts started squealing and got replaced. Even though the Alt. spun freely when I did the belts, it locked solid at a gas stop and SMOKED the new belt when I started it up. We arrived in Silverton after the Visitor centor was closed and couldn't get a map. (called Jimny ) Found the group!
Left next day, need to cover 1800 miles, via Wichita, in three days.
Trailer connector came undone and the road made it a really, really flat 4 wire connector.
Generator tries to melt its cord, air conditioner trips the breaker, I open a window and it slides to far and hits the opposite glass and breaks into 10k pieces. Storm approaching!
Later that night, after fitting a piece of plexi instead of tape and bag, we drive through a storm we maybe should have waited out.
Finally arrive in Houghton, MI, only 45 minutes late and kick out the kids for Engineering summer camp. Go do laundry. Get shower! Go to WI and hide in the woods. Go to Bemiji, MN and buy LJ20O to keep Nemo company. Return to nice campground in WI and collapse for two days. Back to Houghton, drive Nemo around town, fix gas tank vent, make new set of plug wires. Pick up kids and head to Grand Marais, MI. Rest & relaxation! Watch fireworks as FOG rolls in from Lake Superior and makes the whole town invisible. Drive home.
Some where in there, after we left the real mountains, we lost the rear brakes (wheel cyl.). Only two moments of real excitement, good thing the horn works!
Pictures tomorrow...

This is retirement?
... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Russ gets the prize for most trouble.
I talked to the guy that bought your other WB and he said he went from the west coast to the east coast and didn't have a bit of trouble! Just kidding!!
Well all that trouble is better then getting into a wreck or something like that, good to see you made it back in one piece.

You might notice that there is no "call towtruck" or "go to dealership". It was mostly time and trouble. I spent about $150 on repairs / replacement, with the exception of the window and the 'frig.
And I almost forgot, I-35 has my 2x10 ramps. Missouri roads are almost as bad as Michigan!
Here's a picture of the rig in MN:
