Re: Whipsaw 2010

Ok I'm a little confused on what is the "Princeton" side of the trail since both ends of the trail are about equal distance from the town. Do you mean starting from Coalmont or south of Princeton on Hwy 3? Also, are we hoping to run the entire trail on Saturday or camping halfway and finis...

Re: Whipsaw 2010

I hope I wasn't misunderstood there, I'm totally fine with people having a few beers around the fire. I've just been to events where people were recklessly drunk driving with their children in the vehicle and no seat belts on, so it kinda gets me worked up a little. This group is great though, I'm t...

Re: Whipsaw 2010

No one in my group has children but none of them are into drunken mayhem either. As far as I'm concerned, if someone wants to do that, they can do it elsewhere as I don't want to waste my time dealing with it.

Re: Whipsaw 2010

Looks like I should be able to come down Friday whenever it suits. A friend of mine is coming from Cranbrook with his LWB Samurai on Friday too, so maybe we can meet up in Princeton and then head out to find a camping spot and mark the way for others that come later. If I can swing it, I'll head dow...

Re: Whipsaw 2010

I'm still planning on coming with my LJ81 and a friend of mine will be coming with a Sami of some sort. I'm not sure who will be coming with us yet. I'm not sure about where to camp or what time I'll be there yet either.

Re: Whipsaw 2010

Thanks for the info Grant. Are your parents thinking of coming out even if you can't? I'm trying to get some people from Cranbrook to come along.

Re: Kelowna

Have you tried calling the magazine to order one? Here's the toll free #(877) 479-4823.

I'm still having trouble getting my magazine and I have a subscription, I'm not sure what's going on there.

I bet you do!

I'm sure you could have the LJ80Q ready for a trail run without a crazy amount of work, but the diesel Sami would be cool too.

Re: Whipsaw 2010

Sounds like fun!
I'd sugest we go before it gets too hot out as I don't know anyone around here that has A/C in their LJ. However, the only time that doesn't work for me is August as I'm already quite busy that month.
Anyone know how early we can get in there and not get burried in snow or mud?

Hey Norm, it might be faster to just go to Al's house and get a copy! haha

I noticed your sami was up for sale a little while ago, what have you been up to?

Re: Kelowna

Yeah, Glen posted that in the "word up" section as he got the mag last Friday already. Go figure, I live in the town the mag is made in and I still don't have my copy! lol

Pretty cool though!

Re: oil seal cross reference

I got all my seals from a local Kaman Bearing store. Pretty much any good bearing/seal place should be able to cross reference your seal size with one that they can get. The pinion seal that I got didn't have the outer dust seal, but it still holds the oil in, which is better then what the old one w...

Re: Kelowna

Nice, more pictures are always good. Rich should have a bunch too once he has time to go through them all. So far Norm is the only person to send me the info I need for Al, just a reminder to the rest of you that I still need that. Grant, if you could send me info on your drive train swap and also y...

Re: Kelowna

Man I wish I was there the first day, that looked fun! Instead I was in a pre natal class watching a childbirth on video  hahaha, glad you could make it for Sunday anyway, but yeah, it was pretty fun on Saturday there. I'd be up for doing that kind of wheeling way more often if I could! Tyre...

Re: Kelowna

I had an awesome time wheeling! It was nice to finally get out this year. Al has asked me to put together the names and rig info (any modification info, axles, transfer case, etc) on the people who came to the meet. So if you all could PM me that, I'll put it all together along with a bunch of LJ in...

Re: Kelowna

If you don't want to take all day to get back out, we have to exit the trails at a different place from where we go in. Thus the trailer would be at the wrong place.

Oh yeah, if we could meet Saturday by 10:00 AM, that would work for that time line.

Re: Kelowna

Sounds like it'd be easiest if we just fend for ourselves with food. So we'll try and meet at Al's place, 1191 Hartman RD. its in rutland, Hwy 97 to Leathhead (next lights after Hwy 33 turn off). right on Leathhead through two lights to stop sign. turn left to next stop sign. turn right up hill to s...

Ok guys, thanks for getting back to me so promptly! Aaron, you were mentioning that you wouldn't be able to make it until later in the day on Saturday, I'm not sure if we'll be able to set up a meeting point in the late afternoon or not, so you might only get the end meeting point for camping. I'll ...

Ok I just want to double check who wants to camp on Saturday night. Al is good with pretty much anything but I need to call him tomorrow and let him know who can come when and decide our time line. So if Tyrel and Steve can't make it, that leaves us with Colin (far as I know anyway), Grant and his D...

Rich, calling Norm when you're here will probably be the best idea. I haven't talked to Al yet as I've been really busy. I'm pretty sure he's gone now until after the weekend too. I only have my wife's cell phone right now, 250-863-2853. You or anyone else can try calling me on it if needed but I'll...

Some great pictures there Myers!

It's too bad I couldn't make it this year, I really wanted to wheel Moab! Maybe some year we can plan to do the Rubicon as I haven't done that yet either.

Good to see everyone had a great time!

Re: Kelowna

I haven't figured out yet if it's a fuel issue or weak spark issue. Very hard to start, barely ran, then dies. Plugs are wet, spark seems weak. I ran out of daylight and had to quit, for now. It was running very rich before, I thought maybe clogged jet or a problem with the choke. I did have a prob...
