Re: Disney,Ok end of Sept. LJ's invited

We're planning on attending, so make that one more stock LJ. We won't be camping, but haven't made our reservations yet.

Re: Meet Location

Black Bear Pass is great fun, if you don't have a problem with driving on a very narrow road on the face of a cliff, with tight switchbacks  Tom – Compared with the first part of Moab’s Poison Spider, + / - ? Myers The trail itself is not really bad, it's the pucker factor that gets you. For...

Re: Meet Location

I think Charles Wells wrote a CO trails book, similar to the Moab book. There are quite a few trails down by Silverton and Ouray, certainly enough to keep us busy for a week. Two "must do's" for me are Black Bear Pass and the Alpine Loop. PoughKeepsie gulch looks fun - a bit more challenging, but n...

Re: Meet Location

Where's a good site to get trail info for CO? Anyone up for some Holy Cross action if it's close enough? I've haven't done the Holy Cross trail itself, but I've been through the area. It's too far north of Silverton to be part of that trail network, but I understand there are many more tr...

Wow, I just discovered that I didn't take many photos out on the trail! Too busy driving, I guess. Oh well, I did get a photo of how many LJs you can park in two regular parking spots!

Re: Who all is home safe?

Just made it home to Sweetwater TX, with the return trip being uneventful, after 2100 round-trip miles. Looks like our area got a little weather, with localized flooding north of us, but only a couple of inches of rain at our home base.

Re: Pictures from the meet!!!

I fought a nasty head wind all the way home. It took me about 160 gallons of gas to get the 700 miles from the meet to home. OUCH! 1 ton dually Dodges with V10 engines don't get very good gas mileage even when they don't have a headwind! Nancy and myself have a few picts, when we get home we'll cul...

Re: Getting ready for the meet...

Well, I got the front bumper done, I decided the original wasn't really worth fixing, so I just built a new one. Made a CB antenna mount, too. So unless something happens, we're ready to leave! I've been watching the weather for the meeting location, and its been raining there just about every day! ...

Hard choice. We might need someone that can pull stockers out of hard spots...but then, LJs don't get stuck :))):

Re: Getting ready for the meet...

Well, I'd like to fix the front bumper that I bent at Moab, and maybe fix the exhaust leak I also acquired in Moab too.
Otherwise, we're good to go! :D

Looks like we'll be renting a cabin at Happy Trails Cabins. It's only 4.5 miles from meeting site, and the rates seem quite reasonable. We should be arriving Sunday afternoon, and be leaving Friday.

Re: Who is going to the 2010 meet?

But there are enough places I haven't been to, or haven't taken the kids to, that I want to plan the meets in different areas. Having the meets in different locations also opens them up to new people, that may live too far away for some of the previous meets. I agree, I've never been to South Dakot...

Re: Who is going to the 2010 meet?

I'd be open to that. It's hard to beat the Moab area for shear density of close-in trails and plenty of services.

Sorry it took so long to back to this  Here's the mounting adapter I used to go from the the original three screws to the new two screw mounting. Been looking for these many months on ebay. Have you mounted them yet. And how to wire them would be nice ;) I've got some installation pictures and a wiring diagram coming soon. I've only been able to find these with red lenses. In the US, turn signals can be red or amber, but in Europe, do...

Re: LJ20 Transmission Output Seal

The output shaft seal on the LJ20 tranny is 28x42x22, and is no longer available, as many of you know. While rebuilding a transmission for my stepdad, I took some measurements, and the 42mm is the INNER diameter of the ring, not the outside diameter. Thus, you can remove your old seal, cut the end ...

LED replacement taillights

I've spent a considerable amount of time looking for replacement taillights for my LJ10. Although it appears to have the taillights that IEC used on the LJ10, they are too large to fit in the stock mounting holes, and interfere with the opening of the tailgate. After much searching, I have found som...

Re: 2010 Meet Location

The Black Hills area of South Dakota has an well established 4-wheeling club, the appropriately named "Black Hills 4-wheelers". They've got a nice website http://www.bh4wheelers.com/index.htm with some information on the trails in their area. Maybe they would like hosting the LJ10.com meet?
