Re: Zus of KC Disney, Ok. Labor day
So far, confirmed, we have Tweedy Bird and Meyers with SuzukiTom as possible. ZoKC has 5 confirmed: myself, Kevin, Keith, Mel, and Rob, w/ 2 more possible. As usual, we will do LJ level trails in the am and the harder stuff in the afternoon. So, in the afternoon. the LJ's can watch, try their luck a...

Re: Zus of KC Disney, Ok. Labor day
Ok, the question has been asked where ZuksOfKC camps at Disney. I'll answer that. We camp at a little known campground south of Pensecola Dam. There are no hook ups, just pads and grass. Here is a map of the area. It's actually in Langley, not Disney. And it's a little tricky to get to the first tim...

Re: 2014 Lj Meet?
Well, folks, there's your definitive answer on an official LJ10.com meet. That's why I deferred to Steve in my post. SuzukiTom and I are tentatively discussing a local get together in the Texas, Ks, Ok, Qrk. area. If anything comes of it, we'll post up in the afore mentioned "LJ Meets" cat...

Re: 2014 Lj Meet?
<sigh...> I suppose we could. Been a pretty dismal turn out for the last few. If I get 3 or more requests after this post, then I will put up a new thread for a 2014 "official" meet. Sorta "official". As long as Steve agrees. I ain't running the sunamabitch, tho (after last year)...

Re: LJ 80 Samurai distributor swap
Works good, don't it?
That was one of those moments when I said "why won't this work?" and just tried it.
A super sweet mod for an LJ80 that really makes a difference.

Hey, how'd your expedition to Steel Bender go on Friday? I wish I had been able to make that day, but Nancy wanted to check out Grand Junction instead (mixed up priorities, huh?) Tom H. Was a good trail. Good variety of terrain, quite a few fun obstacles, nice scenery. Long enuf that Kevin didn't w...

Coupla pics Alice took: You know, Smuz, you can photoshop out that ugly fat guy in the upper right corner that's photo bombing in that shot :| :| I think I 'd rather chop out the ugly short, fat fella in the left center... P.S.: It's kinda hard to make out Kevin's winch line in the pic, ain't it? A...

Re: Zuks of KC - Moab, 2013
I also wanna thank Phil (Tweedy Bird) for the comradeship, running winch cable, helping with fixing mechanical issues, and picture tacking. He was an anchor on this trip.
And he's got one sweet little LJ81 that he beat up a bit on this trip.
Thanks, Phil.

Smuz and Kevin are home safe and sound. Was an awesome trip. I'll start posting a synopsis of it tomorrow, after I decompress. Wuz a long run home, the GPS said that I towed that freight train 1900 mile there and back. Kevin got quite a bit of video that I'll post links to when he gets it up. Later...

And Kevin, Alice, and I are in a hotel at Aurora, Co. watching it rain. Gee-whiz, there,s a lot of water here. We hit one bad 100 mile stretch between Colby, Ks. and Limon, Co., where we had a 30+ quartering headwind. I got 3.5 mpg. Ouch! Tomorrow should be un eventful, once we get thru Eisenhower t...

CB radios:
ZoKC usually runs on channel 16. If that's too busy, we usually drop to 6. If that's too busy than we punt. Take this info for what it's worth.

Re: Zuks of KC - Moab, 2013
Hey Tom.
I know I strong armed you into being trail leader, but how about we plan on doing "fins and things" on Monday. That's a nice, easy trail to get us started and don't take all day.
Then we kin get together Mon nite and plan further.
Huh?

Re: Zuks of KC - Moab, 2013
Getting close and I'm about ready. Kevin mentioned that he washed his Samurai. What a smart aleck. I figger that Moab is all sand and rocks and could benefit from some Kansas mud, so I'll let my Samurai shake itself off there and dump summa the crusted mud that's weighing it down. :D 'course the hid...
