Re: Running Pre-Mix

I dont know how much the ratio needs reduced for using the synthetic oil. I would still be afraid of going above 50:1 myself. but you can always keep an eye on the plugs to see if your mix is right. they should be a chocolate brown on the ceramic insulator, but check them after a hard run and no idl...

Re: Date, location

I was...

Re: Hot Spark Plug....

hmm, the lj10 plugs are supposed to be a NGK b7hz but the parts house said all they could supply me with was a b7hs. I looked at a chart to see what the letters and numbers mean in the designation. the z has a 1mm wider diameter center electrode than the s does so then theoretically does that make t...

Re: Hot Spark Plug....

ya they do so much damage in the first 30 seconds its not imaginable what would happen if it was ran any longer! I only have experience with a few bikes that did this. they do this when too lean a air fuel mixture too, like when the crank seals are getting weak. thats the problem I had with the bikes.

Re: Ooooooh, I miss my LJ10....

so the LJ motor being a 2 stroke what is the limiting factor of the rpm level, why is the redline so low? unless it has weak rods or crank it should be able to turn up into the 10,000 rpm range no problem.
